Chapter 1 – Part 1 – I’m the only one who knows her other side

Couldn’t help myself since this beginning bit was so short, and I needed a break from oresuki epilogue (which is soooo draining for some reason orz)

After the 4 hours of morning classes ended, once the lunch time chime rang out, the silent, funeral ceremony-like atmosphere vanished, and the classroom started bustling with energy instantly.

There were people quickly heading to the cafeteria, friends gathering around each other’s desks, and so on, all doing different things and just watching them you wouldn’t get bored. In the case of a loner, there’s no choice but to spend lunch time reading, studying, or observing people. I say I like it because it’s interesting.

「……Sleepy.」

When I received that message from Kanzaki, I had no reason to sleep—-Just kidding, I slept like usual because I was drowsy. And yet, the reason I’m still tired is because of Sin and Cosine and whatever else only making my sleepiness stronger isn’t it? Seriously, when will I ever use those?

「I didn’t understand math~ Teach me Kotone~」

「Eh~ did you not pay attention during class?」

「I slept a bit」

「Ugh, there’s no helping it then.」

It seems like the girl with blond twin-tails that appeared at Kanzaki’s desk spends class time the same way as me. In conclusion, making not only me fall asleep, math is bad.

Her name is Rin Maihama. I don’t really remember the names of my classmates that well, but the impact of her showy hair and anime-like appearance shocked me so much I ended up remembering her name.

Anyways, this year we’re in the same class. For some reason she hangs around Kanzaki a lot, and if we add in the way she calls Kanzaki, they have a very close image, but anymore than that isn’t relevant, nor do I want to know.

Kanzaki’s expression as she opened her textbook and got close to Maihama was like calmness itself, but teaching her is going to take a little bit more time right? Just like always, it seems like I will go on ahead.

One of the basics of being a loner is not liking crowds of people that make a lot of noise. And because of that, spending lunch time in the classroom is a big no no, and I rarely enter the cafeteria that a lot of the students use. Ever since first year, I gave up on having lunch at those kinds of places, and ended up using the literary club’s club room, since I’m a member. And then, one day Kanzaki started to join me.

Dodging her side-long glance, in order to get away from the noise, I left the classroom with my bento in hand.
